Somewhere between The Bahamas and Dominica

So the voyage has started and guess what, I get sea sick...pretty bad actually. I finally got on board at around 1:30 yesterday afternoon and immediately had to grab some lunch before it ended, start registration and then start meetings. In between things we unpacked and tried to get settled into our joke of a room. It has bunk beds that can actually fold up. It's not even close to the size of a regular room but we'll make do. Our bathroom is probably the worst part. It has the smallest shower I've ever seen and both my roommate Ali and I can't fully see into the mirror that's positioned for a person who is at least 5'8". It's really something else.

So finally, after waiting for those stuck in airports due to weather, we set sail at 8:00pm last night, otherwise known as 2000 hours. We waved good-bye to our parents and other on lookers as we tried to help them find us on the ship rail--not an easy task I might add. We went straight into more orientation meetings after that and that's when I started to feel the boat rocking. It was okay at first, just a headache and the exact feeling of a hangover. But later that night, after some kind soul just shared his nausea medicine with me (hint at how great I must have been looking to get an offer like that), I puked. Yuckies all over. Went back to the cabin, and have been sick ever since. I got up to shower this morning finally feeling better after a rough start and then got sick again. I had to miss orientation stuff this morning and I wont be able to make it again this afternoon. And, because we're in the very front of the ship (not even on the ship maps/floorplans), we can feel the waves more than anyone else. It's not the way I was hoping to start this amazing trip. I haven't even seen outside yet today. I'm hoping that I'll be able to at least go sit out on the deck later or something; that way Julius, our cabin steward, can come in and do what he needs to do. He's so sweet-he scrounged up some extra blankets for us last night too. Anyway, back to bed-it's too hard to sit up and type.
